Distributed by Sony Pictures, the feature film is a thrilling and terrifying reinvention of the Resident Evil franchise.
“Resident Evil” marks the return of the popular franchise to theaters. Promising to bring audiences an electrifying and terrifying reinvention, the new film distributed by Sony Pictures has just released its first trailer. The film is directed by visionary filmmaker Zach Cregger, of the award-winning “Evil Hour” and “Brutal Nights,” and is scheduled to premiere in theaters on September 17th of this year.
Starring Austin Abrams (“The Hour of Evil”, “The Walking Dead” and “Euphoria”), the film has an original story and follows Bryan, a medical deliveryman who unexpectedly has to fight for survival in an increasingly dark, horrifying and chaotic night. The cast also includes Zach Cherry (“Breakthrough”), Kali Reis (“True Detective: Night Earth”) and Paul Walter Hauser (“Richard Jewell”).
With a screenplay by Zach Cregger and Shay Hatten (“John Wick: Chapter 4” and “Army of the Dead”), “Resident Evil” is a Columbia Pictures and Constantin Film production, in association with TriStar Pictures.
The film franchise is inspired by the popular PlayStation zombie game series, which popularized and revolutionized the survival horror genre.
SYNOPSIS
